Smothered Steak
Ingredients :
1 pack of steaks (this package had 4 good sized pieces)
1 Onion chopped
1 Bell Pepper chopped
1 Tablespoon of minced garlic (or 1 clove chopped)
1 Can of cream of mushroom
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
3 shakes of Slap Ya Mama
2 shakes of cayenne pepper
2 shakes of black pepper
(or season to your liking)
Vinegar-pour and count until 2
Lemon Juice-pour and count until 2

1) Wash steaks (soak) with vinegar and lemon juice in cool water. Make sure your meat is fully submerged. Soak for approximately 20 minutes. Drain the water, rinse meat two times.
2) Add cooking oil, and heat. Season meat with seasonings mentioned above, or with whichever seasoning you prefer. Fully coat the meat with the seasoning by using both hands to toss inside of a large bowl or pan.
3) Brown meat on both sides with medium heat
4) Remove from pot and add chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Saute until onions are translucent in color
5) Add 1 can of cream of mushroom; stir with onions, bell pepper, and garlic until brown in color. Add 2 cups of water, and stir for 20 seconds. (If for some reason it isn’t browning to your preference, you can add a cap full or two of kitchen bouquet)
6) Place steaks back into the pot, cover slightly, and cook on medium heat for 45 minutes. Add water as desired once the gravy begins to thicken.
7.) Serve with rice, and the side of your choice.
